“There are things in life that you choose and there are things that choose you.”  (Wessling).  

I feel as though the statement above is something that I could have written myself because I identify so closely with it.  I am an experienced teacher with a desire to share my experiences with current teachers.  I believe that it is more important to consider who we teach than what we teach.  All students can learn and will thrive in a more diverse learning atmosphere.  

I Am a Passionate Educator Who Believes:

  • Learning can and should be fun

  • It is more important to consider who we teach than what we teach

  • The learner is most open to learning when self-aware of strengths and challenges

  • Learning is more effective when all multiple intelligence strengths and learning styles are included

  • Choice of how to learn is a key element of effective education

  • Effective Executive Functioning skills enhances learning and the learner is more efficient and effective

  • Study strategies are most effective when tailored to the learner’s strengths

  • State standards need not be an impediment to learning

  • Century 21 skills are important for success now and in a student’s future

  • All people benefit from understanding self: how we learn and our strengths and weaknesses.
